2017 goal review and 2018 goals

It is that time of year again when I try and look at the goals that I set a year ago and see how I did, and then try and set some goals for this year.

2017 Goals

1. Blog a minimum of 4 times a month – was able to get that completed, it was just 4 some months but at least it was achieved.
2. Get DLK Life website updated and keep it updated. - work in progress
3. Keep home office organized – getting a lot better with this
4. Write more for Konecny Consulting and DLK Life – work in progress

Extra things that I did achieve
1. Passed my CompTIA Project+ exam
2. Achieved my Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB)
3. Opened an ETSY store, which wasn’t something I had thought about in early 2017.

2018 Goals

1. Blog a minimum of 4 times a month
2. Get DLK Life website updated and keep it updated.
3. Keep home office organized
4. Write more for Konecny Consulting and DLK Life

I am not sure what 2018 has in store, but I know that I am going to be working on my writing as much as I can and will see what happens to it. I continue to have some personal goals that I want to achieve, but again I will not post them on my blog. I also want to continue to work on getting some more things up on ETSY and see how that project goes.

Where did the year go?

I think, so many people have been saying the same thing as I am saying, where did 2017 go? Sure, it was 365 days, but some of those days seem to have passed in a flash.

When I look back on the year, I can see where it went and things that happened and things that changed. Sure, there are things that are still being worked on as we go into 2018, but I know that 2017 for me was a bit of a year of change.

For me, I went from what am I going to do to boy, this has been a year of some big changes. I went from waiting to see if I passed my CompTIA Project+ exam to writing two more exams and taking a lot more webinars/on-line courses in the second half of the year. When I look at 2017, I am happy with where things ended, and I am looking forward to moving forward in 2018 with all the different things that I have planned and started.

2018 is going to be a busy year as I think most years are and I will see what I end up accomplishing. I know that I am going to go back and look at my goals for 2017 in the next couple of days and set some new goals for 2018, but I can at least look at the beginning of the year with a smile as I know that I am happy with what I accomplished last year even if there weren’t on the original goal list.

The year 2017 is now in the past and 2018 has just started, and now to see what this year has in store for all of us. My goals that I set at the beginning of each year are just an idea of where I think I will be heading and by the time the year is over I normally look at my goals that I set and smile and say yes that was what I wanted to do at the beginning of the year, but I changed my goals for a reason and am normally happier because of the change.

2016 in review and 2017 goals

I am sitting here looking back at 2016 and seeing what I accomplished and am now trying to figure out the goals for 2017.  I am happy with what I was able to accomplish and look forward to seeing what I can do in 2017.

2016 goals
1. Blog a minimum of four times each month. - total number of blogs written in 2016 was 107
2. Get home office area organized – ongoing process
3. Continue to get material up on the DLK Life website – still working on improving the website
4. Release two cross-stitch patterns under DLK Life label – released the Butterfly pattern and did quite a bit of designing but no other patterns were released in 2016.
5. Write more for Konecny Consulting and/or DLK Life – did some writing for Konecny Consulting and will continue this.
6. Continue to write every day – wrote every day in 2016 and actually have written for 1104 continuous days which is just over 3 years without missing a day.

I am going to continue to try and write every day as I find that it does help me keep a focus and actually help me accomplish other tasks. My writing is where I can express things and no one else sees that part of what I write. My blog is what makes me very happy and I look forward to continuing to work on getting more blog entries written.

2017 Goals
1. Blog a minimum of 4 times a month
